چکیده
In absorption spectroscopy, absorption features impressed on the spectrum of a continuum background source are interpreted in terms of conditions in an absorbing foreground medium. If the opacity per ion for a particular transition beginning from some initial state is known, then the areal density (i.e., the path integral of the density along the path of the continuum propagation) of ions in that state within the absorbing medium can be inferred from the attenuation of the background continuum due to that t r an~ i t i on . ' ~~ If the relative abundance of ion species can be determined in this way, then temperature can also be inferred from the observed state of ionization, which can be modeled in terms of temperature and density.2

Inverse Braking Radiation and Resonance Absorption in Corona Plasmas of Inertial Confinement Fusion
Abstract: In this paper, combining the Maxwell equations with the electron balanceequation, we obtain the inverse braking radiation absorption coefficient in a laser fusioncorona plasma. For a fixed plasma temperature, variations of the absorption coefficientversus the penetration depth into the plasma are illustrated numerically for differentvalues of laser wavelength. ...
متن کاملThe effect of temperature on optical absorption cross section of bimetallic core-shell nano particles
In this paper, the temperature dependence on optical absorption cross section of the core shell bimetallic nanoparticles (NPs) is investigated in quasi static approximation. Temperature dependence of the plasmon resonance is important issue because of recent applications of NPs of noble metal for heat treating of cancer and the computer chips. The effect of temperature on surface plasmon resona...
متن کاملQuaternary Cu (InxGa1-x) Se2 Nanoparticles Synthesis Using Heating-up Method for Photovoltaic Applications
In this paper, tetragonal chalcopyrite (CIGS) Cu(InxGa1-x)Se2 with x=0, 0.5, 0.8, 1 are synthesized by heating-up method. These nanoparticle structures differ in morphology and absorption properties due to the synthesis temperatures of 250, 255, 260, 265, 270 and 280 ºC, and gallium molar ratio over the total gallium and indium contents. These features are studied using scanning electron m...
متن کاملUWFDM-1047 Diagnosing Plasma Conditions in Targets Irradiated by Intense Light Ion Beams Using K-alpha Satellite Line Intensity Ratios
The characteristics of Kα satellite line emission generated in intense light ion beam experiments are investigated. Inner-shell x-ray lines are emitted from moderatetemperature (T ∼ 10 − 10 eV) plasmas as 2p electrons of the target ions fill in K-shell vacancies created by beam ion-impact ionization. We focus in particular on the utilization of line intensity ratios from He-like and Li-like ion...
متن کاملUnusual Properties of X-Ray Emission near the Galactic Center
The X-ray spectrum in a 1 × 1 region of the Galactic center observed with the ASCA satellite is examined in detail, following the first report by Koyama et al. (1996, AAA 65.155.208). The observed spectrum contains prominent emission lines from helium-like and hydrogen-like ions of various elements, and is essentially the same all over the region. If the observed spectrum is thermal emission fr...
